How Do Automobile GPS Navigation Systems Impact Drivers' Feelings?

Automobile GPS Navigation Systems

Automobile GPS navigation systems continue to flood the technology market every season with new designs, higher resolution, faster processing, and even added features like PIP screens to watch a DVD movie, MP3 playback, rear-bumper camera viewing, and even night-vision camera viewing. So with all this and more, what does it make the driver feel like? The most honest answer is it just depends on the driver.

Depending on economic status, the new driving generation seems to have less of an opinion and more adoption characteristics as if it is just a way of life. New drivers that do not have access to such technology seem to not care much about it, but would like to give it a try. Those from the baby-boom generation, however, seem to show a split.

Some love it and say it makes the entire driving experience fresh and more intriguing. Having so much at the press of a few on-screen buttons keeps them pleased and does not make a trip seem like so much a chore as more of an expedition. Parents seem to show favor for it based on the media features they can utilize to entertain their kids, which can make a huge impact on longer trips.

Other drivers are what you may call old-fashioned by the standards of today. They prefer less technology, more reliability, and better efficiency. Knowing that in order to fix the AC dial, a computer programmer instead of a body shop mechanic is required still seems a little much. Simpler options satisfy them as long as the main objective of the car is still the spearhead of the vehicle: transporting the driver safely to their next destination.
